Zo verloor 41-jarige huisvader 37 kilo op 5 maanden tijd (foto's)

We draaien de klok even drie jaar terug.

Jeremiah Peterson uit de Amerikaanse staat Montana neemt zijn gezin mee naar een stevige wandeltocht in de bergen. Maar na een paar kilometer was de toen 127 kilo wegende Peterson al volledig buiten adem. Een persoonlijke afgang tegenover zijn kinderen en vrouw en ook het keerpunt in zijn leven. Hij besefte dat hij dringend iets aan zijn conditie moest doen.

Dat lukte. Na 152 dagen was Jeremiah getransformeerd. Hij woog nog maar 89 kilo en was gespierder dan ooit tevoren. Maar om dit te bereiken moest hij bergen verzetten. Zijn geheim: hard werken, veel sporten en vooral veel te gaan lopen.

Maar ook op gebied van eten gooide hij het over een andere boeg. Zo ging hij aan de slag met het keto-dieet. Normaal haalt je lichaam de energie uit koolhydraten zoals aardappelen, brood, rijst en pasta. Bij het keto-dieet eet je veel vetten en weinig koolhydraten. Als het lichaam weinig koolhydraten binnenkrijgt schakelt het over op de vetverbranding. Je lichaam breekt de vetten af tot zogenaamde ketonen: dit proces wordt ketose genoemd. 

Jeremiah zweert overigens dat hij nooit anabolen heeft genomen en dat zijn hele lichaam natuurlijk gekweekt is. Hij heeft zelfs een Instagram-account gestart om huisvaders (en -moeders) die in hetzelfde schuitje zitten met hun lichaam, tips en oefeningen te delen om meteen aan de slag te gaan.

Daily action is what separates the crowds. Failure isn’t the end, it’s part of the journey. Quitting is the end. . Quitting simply is not an option when it comes to working out and dieting. . Failing is just part of life, if you plan to do bigger and better things. Failing, at times, is inevitable. . Failing is part of practicing and fitness takes practice. . Diet takes practice. Weight training takes practice. Running takes practice. And, learning how to know what and when to eat going in and out takes practice. . If you really do want success. . Don’t quit, don’t stop… because success is right around the corner!

? FASTEST WAY TO GET RESULTS. ? THE NATURAL PHYSIQUE. ? DO YOU WANT ABS? . Leave the processed foods and supplements alone. Whole Foods are and always will be the best choice in any diet. . Everyone wants results fast. . Myself included. . Yes you can diet down and do tons of cardio taking it to an extreme to do so…. . But guaranteed ⚠️ You will gain the weight back and probably more if you do it that way. . So what’s the best way to get results with your workouts? ?. . Prioritize your LARGEST muscles groups. Our largest muscle groups are our legs and back muscles. . By working and prioritizing these muscle groups you will create a natural bigger caloric burn in your body. . So if you are short on time and you are debating between 30 minutes of steady state cardio or a total body strength training session… . I recommend focusing on strength training your largest muscle groups and using compound movements to do so. (Remember compound movements are exercises that require multiple muscles to work at the same time. Examples of this would be squats, deadlifts and rack pulls). . I’m not saying you should forgo cardio and just do full body workouts everyday either… . It takes a balanced approach to truly change your body inside and out. Finding the right combination for your body and lifestyle should be a HUGE goal for your long term health. . Some body types will benefit from more strength training than cardio, some will benefit from slightly more cardio than strength training. Knowing and understanding your body is always key into turning your health into a daily priority. . NEVER FINISHED

People ask me what my “secret” is all the time. . No it’s not drugs. No it’s not supplements. . It sounds simplistic but it’s taking in the knowledge and consistency. . I love putting in the WORK. . Look it doesn’t matter how perfect of a weight loss plan you use is… . If you hate it…you will not do it. . Find something you love. . Guaranteed you will do something you love more consistently than something you hate. . Therefor you will get better results from consistently following a less than “perfect” plan you truly enjoy rather than struggle through the plan you hate. Sustainable is the key. .
